Good Business Lab Projects

What am I currently working on at a research-focused organization?

At Good Business Lab (GBL), I have so far worked on and continue to work on several projects including Qualitative Exploration or Scoping studies and Qualitative Evaluation. I also work on Comprehensive Reviews, Conduct Organized White-boarding Workshops, and Curate and Design training modules for projects.

Who did I cover and where?

100+

participants I've interviewed on field

projects I've worked on

Qualitative Exploration:

Here, my team and I work closely on understanding the context for a research project by going on field and extracting grass-roots information about people's experiences. I have worked on:

Scoping of social norms in female labor participation (FLP) in rural villages; Understanding barriers in FLP in the automotive industry in India; Understanding the experience of free nutrition programs in garment factories, etc.

Qualitative Evaluation:

I design qualitative evaluation protocols and co-write grants applications to understand how a particular program or intervention has impacted the target group and those around them in terms of their experiences. I have worked on:

Evaluation of a soft-skills training program for supervisors on the shop-floor in garment factories; Evaluation of training in life, financial, and digital skills for adolescent girls in rural India, etc.

Comprehensive Reviews:

I leverage secondary data to comprehensively map out and review information for some projects. This includes:

Exploring soft-skills training for nurses in the public sector in India; Reviewing the measurement of happiness research; Exploring the return on investment for investing in women's SRH in the coffee supply chain, etc.

Designing Workshops & Training Modules:

I also curate and design workshops and training modules for certain projects and interventions. Some of which include:

Creation of training modules to increase women's use of financial tools for flexible withdrawal of their salaries in garment factories; Designing interventions and training modules for women to increase adherence to iron tablets in garment factories; Organzing brainstorming and ideation sessions to arrive at solutions to problems or interventions for projects, etc.

I also work on routine administrative tasks, including presentations + pitches to internal and external stakeholders and conducting qualitative research trainings and module training.

What did I do?

What did I find?

The projects I work on are diverse and the findings have always humbled me and made me ponder on how qualitative research is powerful and important. People's stories are profound -- the people we want to create for should always have their voice heard on what they want and need.
